At Saipan Community School, we are committed to providing an exceptional education that enables every child to thrive and become all that God has created them to be. This is a place where your child will discover the joy of learning and the grace of Jesus Christ.
Our gifted teachers use a rich and engaging curriculum to nurture each child's growth and development, fully preparing them for their next steps.
There is no such thing as a values-neutral education. Our teachers challenge students to engage ideas informed by Christian faith across all subject areas.
Because of our intentionally small class sizes, every child is seen, known, and loved for who they are. We foster a community where kindness is the norm.
In addition to the core curriculum, we offer a wide variety of classes that inspire creativity and critical thinking. There is a place for every child to flourish!
Saipan Community School is a private Christian school that was established in 1976 as the first Protestant school on the island. The school was founded as a ministry of Saipan Community Church in order to provide families with a distinctive option for their child's education in which faith and learning are integrated. Since then, SCS has been consistently recognized for nurturing excellence in its students, both in academics and character.
We offer classes for Kindergarten through 8th grade, with one self-contained classroom for grades K-5 and a team of six teachers for grades 6-8. Class sizes are limited to 24 students in all grades except Kindergarten, which is limited to 18.
A robust American curriculum is used, including core courses such as math, science, social studies, and language arts, as well as daily Bible classes. Additionally, courses such as music, art, library, PE, computer, and band are offered. All courses are taught in English, and daily ESL classes are available for those who need them.
Students are invited to participate in a number of optional after-school activities, including sports (volleyball, basketball, soccer, track), music (band, choir), arts (island weaving), and academic pursuits (MathCourt, speech and debate, Student Council). After school care is also available free of charge until 4:30pm.
The school calendar consists of 180 days and follows the local public school calendar as closely as possible. The elementary school day begins at 7:30am and ends at 2:10pm. The junior high school day begins at 7:15am and ends at 2:30pm.
